Help Center
Most questions about orders, online courses, retreats, memberships, and training can be answered using the sections below.
We have organized this page to help you find answers quickly without needing to wait for a response from our team. Each section includes helpful information and links to the appropriate forms if further assistance is needed.
Please review the relevant section first before submitting a request.
Our team spends most of the day training horses and running the ranch, so responses to submitted forms may take 1–2 business days depending on the volume of requests.
Submitting multiple forms or emails about the same issue will move your request to the back of the queue, so we recommend submitting one request with as much detail as possible.
Thank you for your patience and for being part of the Horse Help community!
Due to the liability with training problem horses and the danger to the public, all visits to the ranch are by APPOINTMENT ONLY.
Tack Orders
Most orders ship within 7 business days. However, if your order is listed as “Preorder,” this means we are temporarily out of stock of one or more pieces you ordered.
During checkout, the button would have said “Preorder” instead of “Add to Cart,” and a note below indicated that items may take up to 30 days to arrive and ship.
We understand this can sometimes be missed, and we apologize for any confusion.
We are expecting new inventory to arrive soon. By keeping your order active, you are holding your place in line and will receive your items as quickly as possible once they are back in stock.
Before submitting a form:
Most questions about orders are answered in these FAQ sections. Please review them first.

- You will receive tracking once that shipment goes out
We sincerely apologize for any delay. Our goal is always to get product into your hands as quickly as possible, even if that requires multiple shipments on our end.

The best retreat for you depends on your comfort level in the saddle and what you want to work on with your horse.
If you're unsure, ask yourself this simple question:
“How comfortable am I riding my horse at the walk, trot, and canter?”
Use that answer to help guide your choice below.
We offer several retreat types depending on your experience level and goals with your horse. Below is a quick guide to help you choose the best fit.
➡️ Confidence Retreats
Perfect for riders who are rebuilding confidence or want a slower, supportive environment.
Focus includes:
- Walk and trot work
- Confidence-building exercises
- Optional cantering during games or activities
- Helping riders feel comfortable and in control again
➡️ Intermediate Retreats
Designed for riders who are comfortable riding and ready to expand their skills.
Focus includes:
- Walk and trot work
- Some cantering
- Obstacles, trails, and horsemanship exercises
- Improving overall communication and control
➡️ Advanced Boot Camp Retreats
For riders and horses ready for a more intensive training experience.
Focus includes:
- Walk, trot, and canter work
- More advanced exercises and problem-solving
- Higher expectations for rider and horse readiness
⚠️ Prerequisite:
You must have attended a past retreat or completed the Horse Help Course program before attending an Advanced Boot Camp or Advance Gaited Retreat.
➡️ Gaited & Advanced Gaited Retreats
Designed specifically for gaited horses and their riders.
Includes everything from our standard retreats, plus:
- Additional classes focused on gait development
- Gait correction and refinement
- Improving comfort and smoothness in the saddle
The regular gaited retreat focuses on creating beautiful, functional trail horses that gait well, not show-ring training. The Adv. Gaited will touch a bit more on show ring qualities.
➡️ Cattle Retreat
For riders interested in working cattle and learning real ranch skills.
Focus includes:
- Sorting cattle
- Cutting work
- Roping fundamentals
- Building confidence around cattle
This retreat is a favorite for riders who want to try something exciting and practical with their horses.
If you are still unsure which retreat is the best fit, the Confidence Retreat is the best starting point for most riders.
Many riders worry about choosing the “wrong” retreat level, but the truth is that Michael adjusts the training for each horse and rider throughout the week. As long as you choose the retreat that best matches your current comfort level, you will be right where you need to be.

Horse Training
This Section Is For People Who Have Questions About How To Train Their Horse Or Who Want To Send Their Horse To Michael For Training
For most horses and situations, we recommend starting with the Horse Help Challenge. This is where you can submit questions and videos to Michael directly for him to offer guidance on.
The Challenge lays the foundation for everything by focusing on respect, communication, and clarity between horse and rider. Instead of chasing individual problems, the system walks you through a step-by-step process that fixes the root cause of issues.
The program is designed to help with things such as:
- Behavioral issues
- Riding problems
- Confidence building
- Consistency
- Communication between horse and rider
- Overall partnership
Rather than trying to patch symptoms, the program starts every horse at the beginning and works through structured grade levels to build a solid foundation.
The Challenge is free to join for 30 days, with options to continue for full access to the training library and additional support.
👉 Learn More About the Challenge: www.horsehelpchallenge.com
If you're already in the Challenge, go to this link to login:
👉 Challenge Hub Login: www.gethorsehelp.com/challengelogin
If you have already completed or are currently participating in the Horse Help Challenge, the next step is the Horse Help Club.
The Club expands on the Challenge foundation and includes over 1,000 hours of training videos covering everything beyond the basics. This is where riders continue developing their horsemanship and advancing their horses.
One of the biggest benefits of the Club is the ability to submit weekly videos for review, where you can send in footage and receive feedback directly from Michael.
👉 Learn More or Join the Club: www.gethorsehelp.com/joinclub
We do accept horses for professional training at Horse Help, but training spots are limited and available by application only.
All horses must first join the training waitlist, and horses are personally selected by Michael based on fit, goals, and availability.
Training Rate:
- $7,500 per month
- $5,000 per month for payments made in cash
Training programs are customized to each horse, but commonly include:
- Colt starting
- Problem solving (bucking, rearing, biting, refusing, etc.)
- Trailer loading
- Obstacle and trail work
- Arena riding skills
- Desensitization
- Liberty and groundwork
- Gait work
- Advanced riding skills depending on the horse
Our training program uses a team approach, with Michael starting each horse but then overseeing the program while horses are also worked by trusted trainers and academy students to ensure horses become confident and forgiving with different riders.
This helps prepare them for real-world handling rather than becoming dependent on a single rider.
Your horse will receive:
- Daily training (6 days per week)
- Individual turnout
- Structured feeding and nutrition
- Professional care from our ranch team
Before applying, please review the Horse Training page, which includes a full FAQ answering most common questions.

We primarily breed and raise our own homegrown Paso Finos with championship bloodlines, along with select Quarter Horses.
From time to time, we also accept consignment horses, though these are handled on a very limited and case-by-case basis.
Because of this, you may occasionally see other breeds available, such as:
- Spotted Saddle Horses
- Rocky Mountain Horses
- Tennessee Walking Horses
- And other gaited or specialty horses
Every horse offered through Horse Help receives the same foundation training and horsemanship approach used in all Horse Help programs.
Nutrition & Rehab
Many questions we receive about horse nutrition, conditioning, rehab, and overall horse care are answered inside Brooke’s Horse Owner’s Course
Brooke is Michael’s sister and the in-house nutritionist and rehab specialist at Horse Haven Ranch. Many retreat guests have already met her through the Horse Nutrition class she teaches during retreats, where she covers the most important things every horse owner should understand about feeding, health, and long-term horse care.
After years of requests, Brooke has finally put together a comprehensive Horse Owner’s Course designed to answer many of the most common questions horse owners face.
This course is built from five generations of hands-on horse experience, along with Brooke’s professional work in nutrition, conditioning, and rehabilitation.
The course also includes checklists and worksheets to help horse owners stay organized and prepared for the many situations that come up when caring for horses.
Topics Covered in the Course Include:
- Horse nutrition
- Conditioning programs
- Rehab and injury recovery
- Travel with horses
- Vet and emergency preparedness
- Fencing and stall setups
- Coat and body care
- Tack fit and equipment care
- Selecting a new horse
