Took my granddaughter for her birthday, we thoroughly enjoyed our time and learned a lot!! Can’t wait to go back

If you are looking to completely reset your mindset and elevate your riding, and horsemanship skills this is the getaway you need. The volume of education is incredible; you will take in so much information that your brain feels like it might explode, but completely in the best way possible.
Michael has an unmatched ability to get you entirely out of your own head and onto the back of a horse safely. Between his constant encouragement the help of his "Blues" and the amazing camaraderie of the retreat group, any lingering inhibitions or fears just melt away.
Beyond the top-tier training, the atmosphere is unforgettable, We laughed until our stomachs hurt, shedding our adult stress and feeling like carefree children again. Plus, the lovely, Southern home-cooked meals kept everyone fueled and feeling like family throughout the entire stay, the community dining room brings everyone together and the quaint rooms and cabins are just the spot for a relaxing night after a long day of fun.
I cannot recommend the confidence retreat enough. It is worth every single second and penny spent.

It was great! Met so many wonderful horse loving people. The staff was helpful and Kane really rode my horse Reign like she needs to be ridden! The food was fabulous! I can’t wait to attend another retreat. Hopefully I won’t end up in the ER! 😩

Love it, but I still waiting for the reins and lead rope

First - This is a beautiful halter. The turquoise color is lovely. Second - I never thought I would be more confident riding with no bit, but I am. I just grab the halter, lead and reins and go ride or train. I know my horse WILL stop if I use the halter correctly.

I learned so much at this retreat! I have more skills/tools to continue training my horse at home. I feel more confident in my riding. I would do this retreat again!

I purchased the halter / rein set and they have exceeded my expectations, they are made with high quality materials and I feel confident that my horse is receiving much clearer communication using them !

Of the benefits the MG brand halter has to offer, if you watch the videos of how to properly apply it and use of the included snaps it has been life changing with my horse as I am confident he is receiving much more clear consistent signals when training him. There are so many competitive halter/ sets on the market but this one by far exceeds ANY of the ones you’ll find. BEST investment ever

They are the perfect length and are not too cumbersome to work with and so easy to wipe clean after using them ! Love them

I just attended the Advanced Bootcamp retreat and I highly recommend this one! I learned soooo much. It was fun but I really enjoyed the level of knowledge that Michael shared with all of us. I enjoyed it so much I want to attend it again to learn even more advanced horsemanship. My goal is to incorporate what I learned at this retreat so we can go further at the next Advanced Retreat!! As always, the Gascon's do an excellent job of hospitality, and of course, sharing their knowledge of horses and horsemanship. I'm looking forward to my next visit to Poplarville!

This mare was truly on her second chance when she came into my life.
I picked her up from a kill pen as a 6-year-old Quarter Horse, and while I’ll never know her full history, it was clear that she had learned some strong opinions about people, pressure, and what she was willing to do. She was smart, talented, and very sassy—and I quickly realized I needed more guidance if I was going to give her the opportunity she deserved.
That is when I reached out to Michael Gascon and began working through his program. Together, my mare and I made it through “6th grade,” and I learned a tremendous amount along the way. Eventually, though, when she was asked to step up and do a job, she began bucking and rearing. At that point, I knew we needed more help than I could provide on my own.
I contacted Michael again and asked whether he had an opening in his training program.
Ninety days later, I brought home a completely different horse.
What impressed me most about Michael and his staff was the clarity and consistency of their training. Michael makes the ask clear, then gives the horse the patience and opportunity to work through it and find the correct response. There is no confusion about where comfort is found. My mare learned that when she responded correctly to what was being asked of her, comfort followed—consistently.
For a horse like mine, that consistency made an incredible difference. Instead of fighting the question, she began learning how to search for the answer. She became more confident, more willing, and far more comfortable having a job to do.
Michael and his team did not simply put 90 days on my horse. They helped give this second-chance mare a much better understanding of how to succeed with people, and they gave me a horse I can continue building a future with.
I am incredibly grateful to Michael Gascon and his staff for their patience, consistency, and commitment to helping both horses and their owners find a better way forward.
